We Will Rise Above is a tribute to the leaping skills of NBA star Kobe Bryant and Los Angeles Dodger Mookie Betts. The leaping athletes convey power and the ability of the Los Angeles community to “rise above.”
We Will Rise Above was Brian’s first mural in the Los Angeles area. It was painted after Mookie Betts’ stellar 2020 season capped off by an unworldly World Series championship win. The mural overlooks the parking lot of Philippe the Original eatery near Union Station.
